What is eTherapy?

Good question! Simply put, the “e” signifying “electronic”, means the use of electronics to assist in the therapeutic process. In the early years eTherapy was mostly confined to the use of the telephone, although it was not called eTherapy at that stage. Later it evolved into the use of emails and live chat environments. Recently it has once again morphed into something even more internet based, using webcams to create a “face to face” platform. Sometimes eTherapy involves the integration of telephone, email and webcam support.

Why eTherapy?

Given the constraints of modern life, travel, fuel, time…we are all finding ourselves with less and less time to take care of the essential self-care process. An hour at a therapy office often means an hour of preparation, drive time to the office (hopefully there isn’t any traffic), the visit itself, and a return trip back from the session. All of this combined can really add up in an already time restricted environment.

eTherapy means a more concentrated time is spent either on the phone, or online taking care of you.

How does it work?

eTherapy works just like an office visit, it starts with the client completing a confidential intake form. An appointment is scheduled and at the appointed time, the session begins. It is that easy.

Skype™ is our preferred form of webcam communication. It functions the same way as an office visit. The client is seated in front of their computer at home with a webcam facing them, while Scott Sulak, a licensed behavioral modification expert, is seated in front of his computer in the same way. Each person can see the other as plainly as watching television. Issues are discussed in an open dialogue and just as in an office visit, when the time is appropriate for hypnotherapy; the client simply leans back and relaxes while Scott eases them in to a relaxed state and helps them access their powerful subconscious mind.

Skype is a free download, and the service is free to use. Before your first session a 10 minute conversation takes place to give you instructions if you have never “Skyped” before. It is really easy to do!

What are people saying about eTherapy?

“I have been in and out of conventional talk therapy for years. I was a bit hesitant at first, but I can honestly say the experience working with Scott online was amazing. It took a few minutes to get used to the camera, but it worked great! We solve HUGE issues, fast. I highly recommend it!”

Barbara – Spokane, Washington

“I had been suffering from agoraphobia and was unable to leave my house. Using Skype with Scott allowed me to cure my phobia and now I have joined the world again. I have my life back, THANK YOU!”

Karen – Boca Raton, Florida

“I suffered from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. I have worked with Scott online and on the telephone for about a month and I am already seeing a difference. I have been seeing doctors and therapists for years and nobody seemed to be able to help. Using the computer and a webcam seemed silly to me at first; but after just one session I now realize it is the future of therapy.”

Francine – San Jose, California

“Scott helped me overcome my insomnia and completely got rid of my unpleasant dreams. I have never been in ANY kind of therapy ever so I have nothing to compare it to, but I am a believer. Thanks Scott!”

Richard – Boulder, Colorado

“I don’t own a computer. I don’t even know how to type. I called Scott and talked to him on the telephone and found his voice to be so soothing and calming. In a just a few calls (sessions) he helped me understand why I had so much rage in me. I cannot explain it, but the anger is gone. I feel so calm and I have even started exercising again. I have referred him to 3 of my friends.”

Christine – San Diego, California

“I am an unemployed steel worker and I was suffering from anxiety and panic attacks. It was so bad that I couldn’t sleep or even leave the house. A friend had recommended Scott and I gave his webcam thing a try. I quickly learned how to calm myself and I am no longer using drugs to quiet my mind. I am now able to get back to looking for a job and getting on with my life. I have never been in therapy before but this was worth every penny. It saved my life!”

William – Ann Arbor, Michigan

“I suffered from a fear of needles but was scheduled for a hysterectomy and I knew I was going to be used as a pin cushion in the process. My phobia was so bad that I considered not having the surgery. In two sessions Scott helped me overcome my fear and I had absolutely no problem at all in the hospital. I recommend his work highly.”

Harriet – Roanke, Virgina

“In my 8 years with a previous therapist all we ever did was talk about the same things over and over. It is hard to believe, but in just 3 sessions online with Scott I finally reconciled my childhood issues and I finally feel good about myself after 53 years! Thank you Scott!”
