What Would the World Look Like
by Bobbie Hurst, July 2001
If all children were encouraged to strive for their personal best? To always
do their best even if it's not first place? To be praised for even trying
and encouraged to never give up?
If all children were encouraged to think out of the box and were never told
there is no such thing as pink grass, or that they should color inside of
the lines?
If all children were taught that they are the only ones who can set limits
for themselves, and not to believe the false limits that others try to
impose?
If all children were taught that anything is possible, and that anything
worth doing is worth doing well?
If all children felt loved, secure, and safe in their own homes?
If all children were taught that life is sacred and fragile, and to
celebrate people's differences, and to be kind to animals?
If all children were taught to slow down long enough to study the under side
of a leaf, or to watch a bird soar? Or that quiet time can sound as
wonderful as music, and to be still and listen to their incredible inner
voice?
If all children were taught to help if they can, to always give back to the
planet and her people, and to live gently upon the land?
Let's make a bright new world, one child at a time.
