1. Always Asking For Other People's Opinions:
We tap into our inner power when we listen to our intuition and do what's true for ourselves. It's great to brainstorm with others and get their feedback, but you give your power away when you ignore your own wisdom and put more stock in other people's opinions than your own. Ultimately, you'll feel more honest and grounded when you get quiet and listen to your own wise counsel. Are you listening to yourself?
2. Ignoring Our Creative Urges:
At our very core, we are creative beings. New ideas and dreams spring from our minds everyday. When we ignore our creative urges, our energy gets stuck. We feel depressed, dissatisfied and discontent. We feel guilty because we know we are neglecting ourselves at a deep level. Our power supply runs low. We recharge our batteries when we pay attention to our inner urgings. If you feel the urge to write or paint or sing or dance or take a trip or a class or whatever...it's important to take action. These are the things that remind us who we are. Are you following your creative urges?
3. Procrastinating:
Have you ever noticed how projects and tasks grow "teeth" and become more formidable the longer you put them off? When we stop taking action, we slow down and lose momentum. Getting started again gets harder and harder the longer we wait. Ironically, we often procrastinate doing the things that will bring us happiness, joy and peace of mind! If this pattern goes on too long, it becomes a power drain. This is due to the mental energy it takes to resist and avoid, as well as the underlying struggle with feelings of guilt and regret. When we take even one step, the energy immediately starts to flow again. This brings confidence, motivation, and a sense of inner power to take the next step. Where are you procrastinating in your life?
